Post subject: So now that we're out of the VotP Raids...

So the boys over at VotP have decided to drop down to one 25 man raid each week. I think that's a great plan on their part and it should lead to more success for them. This does leave us out of the loop for their 25 man though because they'll be filling with Veterans. Personally I think we had a great little run seeing some 25 man stuff and now it's time to focus on our 10 man.

My suggestion is that we bump our 10 man to 2 nights a week. I think I have a general idea of people's availability and so I'd like to suggest Friday and Sunday or Monday as our 2 raiding days.

Personally I'd like to see the lich king dead in the next 4 weeks of raiding. We have the gear, we just need to focus up, consider raid extensions and get to know some of these fights. In the meantime we should see another % buff and that will help as well.

I'm hoping that Nucia will be able to join us again, but in case she's a busy bee, I've put together a viable tanking set and have frost badges enough to get my 2 set bonus in order to help the raid progress.

Please post your thoughts and ideas.

In a related note, I'm out of town this weekend and was wondering if people would be willing to switch the raid to thursday night?

If I end up tanking, then there may be a spot open for a melee dps. Would be nice not to take 3 dks, blessings and replenishment are nice. Would you be willing to commit to 2 nights a week? Or do you just mean thursday this week?

The timing is indeed good. While VotP raids were nice, I do enjoy the 10 man setting much better. I think if we run with a core group of 10-13 players, we have a good a shot as any without spending enormous amount of hardcore time doing it (which I'm not interested in doing). Once we've got a good handle on the place, we can start subbing people in and get PA all geared such that people start to wonder who this lil' guild is.

I'm available Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and if I have to, Fridays (but I'm not happy). 8PM server time is ideal for me. I also think starting up a contact list of emails/IM might help organize raids.

Pretty much most nights will work for me as long as we keep it after 8 p.m. server - I sometimes get stuck at work til about half an hour before then! Saturday evenings are the only ones that are very hit or miss as far as availability goes.

Personally, Sunday is probably the best day for me to start around 8/8:30pm server, though during the week the time (8:30pm server) causes issues due to me being at work until at leave 7:30pm server, and if the traffic is decent, maybe home by 8/8:15pm server. With actually being able to eat something I usually have to bolt food to make it on by 8:30 server, or get on before that, get an invite, and then afk for 5-10 minutes (-15 minutes) to eat without choking myself. Friday isn't a great day as typically i get out later unless there is a holiday on Monday, and I have standing dinner plans with various friends that usually sees me home around 9/9:30 server if nothing is going on after dinner. So while I would love to get Deri and Mal in any and all raids, I will just have to see what adjustments I can make, if any, to make whatever I can.

I think it's great that they're doing what's right for them, as War said. I'm also glad because it opened me up to raiding during the week. I do think we should try to keep Fridays open and available, because Nucia probably won't be able to come any other time (if at all, I haven't seen her lately) due to the fact that her school starts considerably earlier than the school at which Dro and I teach, and she has a much longer commute - I believe she gets up at 4am server time.

As long as we are starting at 8:30 server and ending at or around 11:30 server, I am game for any night of the week as long as I have prior notice. We should schedule specific nights based on interest here.

A couple of quick things to consider.

1) We need more tanks who are on and available; it would be great if we had someone who could swing roles. I am going to be trying to gear Kay more for healing, so if any of you want to level a tank, I can heal with you. Shan is also decently geared (actually, her gear is better than Kay's >.>) in her Holy offset. I will say that I have had more fun tanking than doing anything else, and it provides a different and enjoyable way of experiencing fights. Of course, not everyone will agree - but I just wanted to put it out there. Also, there is something to be said for the instant-queue. =D

2) Our "recruitment" has grown a little stagnant of late. We have lost some people (Debbii, LFG/Haiboiz, haven't seen Pich in a while, Nucia[?] and I've been seeing Ms. Kay and Des less and less lately), but don't pick up new people with any regularity. Now, calm down, I don't think we should start spamming tradechat. Does anyone know of ways we could try to find a few new people who aren't insane? Yes, we have a core who are interested in raiding, but the only night that EVERYONE is on is Friday (and it doesn't seem that that's the night everybod ywants). We need a few more to fill in spots when others aren't available.

I know at least a healer who -was- very interested a month+ ago, but I don't know any more - I was told to tell him to come on raids and groups with us, but we never had room; I also was told he wasn't putting out quite what we wanted, but that's something we can help committed people with. I also know he has a tank offset that is very good.

But we need to recruit a couple of good, interested, committed people from whatever sources we can.

I can usually do most nights so long as I have prior notice, barring soccer etc.

Spreadsheets with everyone's availability. Still waiting on a few responses (and included rows for MIAers who might just be lurking). Will be updated as we get more information.
